Meet Judy...

Judy holds her Masters of Fine Arts in Directing Theatre from Syracuse University and her Bachelors of Arts in History from SUNY Potsdam. She is a member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society and the Theatre Communications Group. She is a proud mother to her son Nate, and wife to her loving and supportive husband, Robert.

 

Locally, Judy has directed many productions for Geneva Theatre Guild, The Palmyra Players, a group that she created, which performed three free Shakespeare in the Park productions. She also has directed murder mystery productions for the Palmyra Players, the Palmyra-Macedon Rotary, and Zion Episcopal Church. Judy also acted in numerous cemetery walks for Historic Palmyra and acted in the Palmyra Community Library’s Murder Mystery fundraiser. Judy has directed William Shakespeare’s A Comedy of Errors for Victor Senior High School,  and also two musicals for Victor, The Sound of Music and Anything Goes. Additonally, Judy acted as Director for Palmyra-Macedon Middle School's performances of School House Rock Live, Jr., Pirates of Penzance, Jr., Willy Wonka, Jr., High School Musical, Jr., and School of Rock. Judy has worked in the professional theatre world as well, working and assistant directing at both GEVA Theatre and Syracuse Stage.

Judy is the recipient of the 2016 Robert G. Boehmler Community Partners for Education award, as well as the Canandaigua National Bank Excellent in Teaching award for 2006.

In 2017, Judy attended the Broadway Teacher's workshop where she took master classes with directors, stage managers and designers from Broadway's Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon, Newsies, and more, as well as Tony nominees Sheryl Kaller, Margaret Milgrim Dodge, and Paloma Young.
